Enjoy a fabulous all-inclusive Caribbean fishing vacation at one of the world’s most exotic and beautiful fishing lodges: Rio Indio Lodge on the San Juan River in Nicaragua. Five-day, four-night packages with airport transfers, first night at a San José hotel*, return charter flights to/from the lodge and three full days of fishing start at $2,850.00 per angler (minimum two anglers). Special non-angler’s rates also available.
A 30-minute charter flight from San José will take you to the gorgeous Rio Indio Lodge on the San Juan River. Along with great fishing, enjoy luxury accommodation, fine dining and an open bar in one of the most beautiful tropical settings imaginable.
Fish for huge Tarpon, Snook, delicious Calba (Fat Snook), Guapote (Rainbow Bass), Machaca, Mojarra, Drum, Gar and other fascinating and rare saltwater and freshwater game fish.
Go after these prized gamefish on 25ft Open Sportfishermen that can take you out of the river mouth to nearshore Caribbean waters where you can fish for powerful Tarpon; and/or on fully outfitted 16ft Jon boats to fish in the rivers, canals, lagoons and backwaters of this incredibly rich fishing area. You will enjoy three days of superb fishing along with delicious meals, Nicaragua’s finest rum, and personal attention that you will never forget. And you can also arrange longer trips.
The majority of Rio Indio Lodge’s expert bilingual captains/guides are indigenous Rama natives who will take you to hitherto unexplored areas of the rain forest where few people have gone before. Experience a sportfishing adventure like no other!
Non-anglers are more than welcome to join their sportfishing relatives and friends. Rio Indio Lodge abuts on the 2,640sq km Indio-Maíz protected biological tropical reserve of coastal areas, wetlands, swamps, primary forests and highlands that are home to an amazing variety of gorgeous, rare and fascinating plant, bird and animal species. While the anglers fish, non-anglers can take tours such as a morning boat trip to Lake Silico – a jungle lake of clear waters, orchids, macaws and tree frogs; or a tour up the Rio Indio to visit families of the indigenous Rama people to learn their customs and way of life; or morning, afternoon and/or night guided jungle walks through the reserve with Rama guides who will point out and explain the highlights of the area
Accommodation at Rio Indio Lodge is in 27 spacious cabins crafted of local wood, each 700 sq ft, with two Queen beds, built on stilts giving a panoramic view of the San Juan River and Captain Morgan’s Lagoon. Each cabin has a screened-in deck. There is also an inviting infinity pool and La Draga Bar for after-fishing or after-tour R&R, plus a gorgeous restaurant offering fine cuisine for your culinary pleasure.
